Cute ba talaga si Robi?

Playing the part of Hannah in the My Girl is a dream come true indeed for the PBB 3rd Placer and Cebuana Nicole Uysiuseng.

We just wish Nicole would take her role more seriously and invest more time in honing her acting skills because as of now many of the fans of My Girl Pinay version are not too happy with their inclusion in the show.

Go girl! Prove them wrong… (never mind Josef and Robi, hehehe :0)

It just feels good to hear stories like this… just a testament that our world is more open and ready to accommodate special people. And may Priscilla be able to prove to all of us that there is indeed a space for them in the working society.

PBB teen star not hindered by disability

DEAF dreamer Priscilla Navidad of the recently concluded “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Season 2″ had a chance encounter with Aga Muhlach, when she and her fellow evictees, Rona, Juriel, Joef, Linda, Kevin and Jolas went on a charity mission with some ABS-CBN executives, headed by Charo Santos-Concio and Cory Vidanes, in Bacolor, Pampanga.

With the group were the cast of the ABS-CBN sitcom, “That’s My Doc,” headed by Aga. They included Roderick Paulate, Bayani Agbayani, Pokwang and Nova Villa. Also present were the kids in the cast, Celine Lim, Jairus Aquino, Sophia Barrs and Bronson.

“It was a happy group,” Priscilla related. “And I, in particular, was in my element. Sayaw ako ng sayaw while waiting for, ika nga, the action to take place. We were to feed and give gifts to more than a 100 children.

“I must have caught Aga’s attention. He called me. And he was probably surprised why I was not responding. Somebody must have told him that I was hearing impaired. He did some sign language. E, hindi nga rin ako marunong ng sign language.

“But we later had the chance to talk. And I was truly impressed with him. He looks so young. ‘Di mo sasabihing may asawa na siya at anak. At mabait siya,” Priscilla added.

Priscilla is from Davao City. While in town for the rest of the “PBB Teen Edition 2″ activities, she and her mom are staying at the Sogo Hotel on Quezon Avenue, where the hotel management gave them a 50 percent discount.

In the Sogo Hotel compound is also where the boutique shop of Ogie and Rose Vergara is located. It is also the office of the STEAM Foundation, which Aga helped establish 12 years ago. For a time, Aga was the foundation’s chairman and president.

The STEAM Foundation aims to educate and train its deaf members, which will allow them to get employed in companies where they can excel despite their disability. Most of the members are college graduates.

Aga volunteered to give up the position two years ago to give way to one of its members, Cromwell Umali, who was born deaf and is now employed with the Media Office of the President in Malacañang, to become the foundation’s president. Aga remains the foundation’s honorary chairman and president.

Most of the foundation’s members work with Jollibee depending on the abilities they can offer.

Aga has long been an endorser of the No. 1 food chain.

In any case, Ogie and Rose’s boutique serves not just another work place for some of the members but their meeting place as well.

Again, Priscilla related: “When my mom and I got off from a taxi we were riding, para umakyat sa hotel, nakita ko ang grupo ng mga deaf. Nag-uusap sila through sign language. At tawanan sila ng tawanan.

“My mom and I decided to approach them. That’s when they brought me inside the boutique and introduced me and my mom to Tito Ogie and Tita Rose.

“Tito Ogie and Tita Rose promised to have me tutored by a sign language expert,” Priscilla concluded.

Priscilla confessed that joining showbiz has been her childhood dream. Nonetheless, she knows, too, that her being a hearing impaired might post some problem in achieving her dream.

“But I will appreciate din if ABS CBN will allow me na maka-guest sa ilan nilang programa. As it is, I’m enjoying guesting in one ABS-CBN program after another with my fellow evictees.

“The fact, too, that I get the chance to hobnob with people na dati ay napapanood ko lang sa TV at pelikula makes me feel not just happy but lucky.

“Gusto ko kasing maging inspirasyon ng mga kapuwa ko hearing impaired. That nothing is impossible, even with someone like us to dream and, ika nga, go for it.

“I’ve tried it and have proven that not all your dreams may be fulfilled. But going after it is already a fulfillment.” Priscilla further stated.

I wonder why until now, many are still bitter and can’t just accept that Robi is just the second placer in the PBB Teen Edition Plus. People are continuously bashing Ejay, why can’t they just be happy and contented that Robi had proven that he is obviously a lot famous than Ejay. And most superior -  intellectually… Why don’t we just be happy for the two?

The Sweeties (the Ejay-Valerie fan base) are clamoring for more projects to be given to the two, if you want to support the ValeJay love team

I used to like their love team when they were still inside the PBB’s house because Ejay ’s way of courting is so refreshing, they are not like the many modern teenagers “na magkahawakan lang ng kamay sila na”

But due to the circumstances that have likely affected their so-called super sweetness now that they are outside, it makes me think twice if it is for real or reel, anyway, time can only test their affinity for each other.

It seems like Nicole is having a grand but hard time choosing who is likely to be the best love team partner for her… some fans are clamoring for a ROBICOLE but the original YONIC fan base won’t just agree to that and be left behind.

Last Month, YONIC held their Fans Day but i haven’t heard any news about any ROBICOLE fans day.

ABS-CBN management deems it would be best to have the love triangle instead.

So watch out for these three Ex-PBB Teen Housemates in My Girl.

Nicole Uysiuseng will play the role of Hannah the missing cousin of Julian in the Pinay remake of My Girl. Just like Kim Chiu, Nicole is also a Cebuana and a product of Pinoy Big Brother.

Also to be included in the show are Robi Domingo and Josef Elizalde… will the sub-plot be a love triangle among the three? How about Sharleen Runkle “Shy” wouldn’t it be an interesting twist to see her in the show with Gerald, rumored to be her ex-boyfriend?

Many are seeing Robi in the likeness of Rico Yan, maybe because of his intellectually good looking, boy next door image. But I guess it would be just unfair for both of them to be compared. Rico Yan will always have a special place in the heart of his Filipino fans. Let us just wish Robi good luck in his budding showbiz career.

Moreover, here are some of clippings we have gathered in relation to the issue of comparison between the two.

Robi is thrilled that he’s being compared to matinee idol Rico Yan (March 14, 1975–March 29, 2002).

“Wow! It’s an honor po kasi from what I’ve heard si Kuya Rico Yan ay iba po ang pakikitungo sa mga tao. “Maganda po sobrang positive po yon para sa akin (na ma-i-compare kay Rico Yan),” Robi said.

Various blogs, forums and other postings on the Internet keep pointing out that Robi is another Rico Yan in the making. Some Internet posts even point out that Robi looks like Rico Yan and even has mannerisms similar to that of the heartthrob.

The late Rico Yan was a former matinee idol and the ex-sweetheart of actress Claudine Barretto. On March 29, 2002, Good Friday, Yan suddenly died at the Dos Palmas Resort in Palawan. An autopsy revealed the cause of his death as “acute hemmoraghic pancreatitis”.

Ricardo Carlos Castro Yan in real life, was under an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN. He was a member of the network’s Star Magic and was a Youth Spokesman for the Department of Education before he died.

SA mga hindi pa nakaaalam…Alam n’yo bang nitong year ay gumradweyt bilang valedictorian sa Ateneo High School si Michael Lee?

Alam n’yo ba kung sino’ng salutatorian niya? Si Robi Domingo.

At alam n’yo bang pareho silang tinanghal na second placer sa Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition? Si Michael, sa first edition, at si Robi, sa second edition.

Alam n’yo rin bang nag-Ateneo rin kami nu’ng high school namin?

Pumasyal lang naman kami roon, tapos, umuwi na agad. Hehehe. * * *

NATURINGANG Big Winner ng katatapos lang na Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus itong si Ejay Falcon, pero mas dinumog ng press people ang runner-up na si Robi sa presscon ng Big 4.

Eto na ang mas nakalolokah, pati ang mga reporter ay “manok” din pala si Robi na mag-win, kaya “lutang pa rin sa kasiyahan” si Robi.

Si Robi ay crush si Kim Chiu at nu’ng tanungin kung okay lang bang magkaroon ng love triangle sa kanila nina Kim at Gerald Anderson, why not daw?

We’re sure, ’yan ang aabangan ng mga fans.

IN fairness, nakita ng ilang reporter kay Robi ang katauhan ni Rico Yan.

Para ngang isinilang na ang papalit sa trono ni Rico at halos wala nang nasabi ang bagets na sobrang flattered.

The future is shining bright for the ex-teen housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus now that they are back in the outside world. Josef, Valerie, Beauty, Nicole, Robi, and Teen Big Winner Ejay have just signed up with ABS-CBN for their KText services. The PBB Teens can soon keep their fans update via text everyday.

The KText service of ABS-CBN has enabled fans to feel close to their favorite Kapamilya stars through their cellphones. By subscribing to the SMS journals, fans can get updates of their favorite teen from the ex-housemate himself or herself. Fans will also be able to receive MMS messages from the PBB teens. Aside from this service, Josef, Valerie, Nicole, Robi, and Ejay also have ringback tones for the most avid fans.

Does it mean na sila na talaga ang cream of the crop from the previous second edition of PBB Teen? Would you agree with me if I will say that Ejay’s winning helped a lot Valerie’s showbiz career? The six deserved to be in the limelight pa rin naman and no offense meant to Valerie ‘coz she is fit to be in the scene din naman.
