What is being consumed?

Soda and snacks are the big money makers in vending. A soft drink is a beverage that does not contain alcohol. Carbonated soft drinks are commonly known as soda, soda pop, pop, coke or tonic. Many carbonated soft drinks are optionally available in versions sweetened with sugars or with non-caloric sweeteners. A snack is seen as a type of food not meant to be eaten as a main meal of the day – breakfast, lunch, or dinner – but that is intended to take in when a person feels hungry between these meals, providing a brief supply of energy for the body. The Vending Times states that soda and snack sales total over 74% of all vending sales. Bulk vending (gumballs, peanuts, etc.) is only 1%. Soda and snacks sell the most because they satisfy hunger and thirst. It is really that simple. The same people in the work place will purchase from the same Vending Machines every day.
